Now without further ado, this last week in numbers....
74 hours clocked in the office - 2 exhausted but happy campers - 12,000 acrylic gems and counting - 1 bottle of very pink fizz to celebrate - 12 emails starting with an excited EEK - 3 continents that #rockglory pieces have winged their way to - 7 bloody awesome brides-to-be who will be rocking ears on their big day - 6 bridesmaids who'll be rocking out in matching Liberace ears (can't WAIT to see that wedding!) - 100 bags of pink sparkly heart confetti made to pop in the orders - 1 day spent scrolling through the internet in sheer excitement
What do you when one of your products gets featured in the biggest UK Sunday supplement magazine? Well, blog about it of course! Our Whole Lotta Rosie headband in Mint was featured in Fabulous magazine this month - in their front-page, fashion chart no less, ooh! You can get your mitts on one at MyFlashTrash.com
Before we popped off on holidays last week, I was delighted to take the trip to Bath to host our first ever Crown and Glory Workshop! Of course, we couldn't think of a finer occasion for our first ever crafting event than the gorgeous Megan's hen do - in a short space of time, Megan has turned from customer to a very dear friend and continually supports everything we do at Crown and Glory, so when she was looking for something fun and appropriate for all the female members of her wedding party to participate in and break the ice during the afternoon of her hen-do, I tentatively suggested that I'd be more than willing to host a Crown and Glory Workshop for her.
We decided it might be fun to theme the workshop around her wedding colours - pastels blues, greens, yellows and pinks - which gave me inspiration for the piles and piles of crafting materials and allowed the hens to create something they could consider to wear on the big day itself. We sat the party, 10 in total, in groups of 3 at a time so it gave everyone a chance to have one to one tutoring with their design! Even the least crafty-fingered of the group got stuck right in and thoroughly enjoyed themselves, coming back for more - some even made 3 pieces to take home! We even included little Crown and Glory goodie bags for the girls to take their pieces home in.
I was absolutely overwhelmed with the response from the hens that we've decided to roll this out as a package available to all! It's still very early days but there will be package options available - such as vintage tea party theme, glitter theme, festival theme to name a few - or we can tailor the package and materials to suit your wedding theme. Group numbers are a minimum of 10, and at £20 a head this will include all materials for up to 3 headpieces per person, equipment usage, one to one tutoring from myself, and a bespoke Crown and Glory goodiebag to stash your new creations in.
Think you might like us to host a Crown and Glory Workshop for your hen, birthday or bah mitzvah? Get in touch by emailing us at sales@crownandgloryaccessories.co.uk and we'll chat crafting, my favourite kind of chat there is!
The eagle eyed among you may have spied Crown and Glory on TV last week! The super gorgeous Rosie Fortescue donned our Whole Lotta Rosie headband in Cream to play a spot of tennis in the hit series, Made in Chelsea. The twittersphere was awash with comments on Rosie's sporty sartorial efforts, with Look magazine tweeting "The only thing saving this scene is Rosie and Mark Francis' headwear", ha!
What a mighty month May was for us at Crown and Glory! We've contended with not one but two bank holidays (they wreck havoc with my routines but I do enjoy a couple of days off!) and I'm sure you're all super bored of hearing how quickly time is flying. Here's what we got up to last month:
Pictures from our S/S 13 shoot with the uber talented Chloe Lee got printed in both Wed Magazine, Cornwall and Mollie Makes Handmade Weddings! I was so excited to be able to send copies to the girls as a thankyou and well done for all our hard work on the shoot.
Our top model Megan made another appearance, this time sporting exclusively Crown and Glory in a festival hair photoshoot for Company magazine. I think Heidi braids with our Whole Lotta Rosie is my new favourite hair look!
Continuing with the Made in Chelsea theme, Rosie Fortescue wore our Whole Lotta Rosie in Burgundy with a gorgeous new look trophy jacket. And subsequently got us printed in Now magazine. Major kisses for Rosie!
My launched a range of vintage headscarves available to buy at MyFlashTrash - was one named after you?
I point blank refuse to believe that we're way into the start of May already. While I'm welcoming the warmer weather (not so much today's sunburn, ouch!) I'm not welcoming how quickly this year seems to be flying by. At the moment, we're working on a couple of projects for later in the year which is super exciting, but for now here's what we got up to in April;
We finished off the wedding season at the Weird and Wonderful Wedding World and met a whole bunch of lovely punters and suppliers alike.
The gorgeous Millie Mackintosh and Rosie Fortescue were seen hanging out in our Whole LottaRosie headbands, we love how they styled them with bouclÄ— jackets and glossy locks
Our favourite popstrel Gabrielle Aplin showcased our brand new Lotta Rosie headbands on her Instagram...
...and we've since launched 8 amazing colours of the perfect, wear everyday rose headband
Ultimate babe Gabrielle Aplin showcased our brand new Lotta Rosie headband in Burgundy - launched last week, the Lotta Rosie is the perfect medium size between our Whole Lotta Rosie and Not a Lotta rosie - there's literally a Rosie for everyone available at www.crownandglory.co.uk now! We're adding new Lotta colours as quick as our paws can make them, but if you'd like to see a particular colour, cast your vote for your favourite over at our facebook page.
I spy with my little eye... the Made in Chelsea babes wearing our Whole Lotta Rosie crowns! Millie Mackintosh and Rosie Fortescue rocked their new roses in Blush Pink and Cream respectively, at the launch of DrLewinns new makeup range. You can shop their look right now!
It was a real treat to hear that this gorgeous wedding involved some of our favourite suppliers - shot by the stunningly talented Emma Case with hair and makeup by the amazing Elbie van Eeden. Lauren wore not one but two Crown and Glory hairpieces for her big day - a low key London pub wedding. Featured in print in this month's Perfect Wedding magazine, Lauren and Lee just look like the happiest, most loved up couple ever.
Want to read more? Lauren spoke about their wedding journey over on Rock n Roll Bride, too.
We just had to show you these sneak peek shots for the launch of our collection at uber cool London jeweller Zara Taylor. Zara will be carrying a selection of our best selling Rosie headbands and Orchid hair clips just in time for the festival season. Our florals are a match made in heaven with Zara's whimsical, vintage inspired jewels, as loved by the likes of Lauren Conrad and Fearne Cotton.
