Amazing still it seems, I'll be twenty three...

Happy Birthday to me! The grand old age of 23, eh? Here are a list of things that would make me very happy if I were to have opened any of them this morning...but seeing as I am writing this on Tuesday night, I'll have to wait and see!

I would quite like to just look like this model for my birthday...and then have this outfit to do it in. Jersey spot trousers, £25, ASOS.

I've had a hankering for a bottle green cardigan ever since Wallpaper Rose posted this one on a wishlist a little while ago. I agree with Louise, the price is darn right scandellous, and I doubt the oversized nature of it would do anything for my less than tiny frame! I'm hoping I'll get to have a mooch around the shops this weekend so perhaps Zara or trusty Marks will come up with something suitable. Aside from trusty black, I actually don't have anything to go with my lovely new Zara cat shirt and I think a bottle green cardigan will go quite nicely. I'm also hoping to have a ganders around Primark, too; even though I vowed to myself I'd stop buying from there as everything seems to get discarded pretty quickly, Zoe and Emma's recent hauls have prickled my curiosity!

Ok so technically I know I'd have opened a Kindle from my parents from my birthday. I ummed and ahhed over it for ages; I love the 'printed word', have a huge love for books in all kinds of different ways; the gloss of a photography book, the smell of a second hand book, the accidents that happen with cookery books and foodstuffs. Books are beautiful, inspiring and should be preserved. But, I figured I could read all the trashy chick lit I want without soiling my real-book collection. And I can take it travelling. Which ultimately means, more room for shoes. Sold. Perhaps there's a Penguin Classics leather case for it out there somewhere that'll earn me back some bookworm points?

Last but by no means least, I'm so pleased that these Disaster Design bags are available from amazon again! Having been gifted the washbag for Christmas (now pride of place in my bathroom. Actually considered re-decorating our month-old bathroom so the washbag fitted in more. Only for a millisecond, you understand) I'm now particularly enamoured with the Overnight bag. Except I want to use it as a sewing bag. Which makes it pretty expensive, really. My mum has a gorgeous tapestry sewing bag that I've always loved (something about going through all the cottons and ribbons as a kid I think) which I only learned the other day, that it was one of the last things her dad bought her before he died. She used it as a handbag for ages, but then when it fell out of fashion she couldn't bare to throw it so has used it for her sewing ever since.

Maybe I'll ask my dad to buy me the Disaster Designs one. He isn't dying or anything, but having something like that to look after is such a lovely idea. I hope one day I have a daughter that will take such enjoyment over the tangles of rainbow thread as I did all those years ago.

  1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope it's been a good one:) I get what you mean about the oversized cardie, I love the look of them but I'm not tiny so something like that wouldn't suit me at all. The Kindle thing sounds interesting, definitely space conserving, and that point about the trashy lit thing is good as well :P I love the looks of those bags and I hope you get some of that stuff then! xx

  3. Happy birthday! May all your dreams come true this year!
I'll be buying a kindle in the next few days with all my christmas wages as a present to myself. It's definitely something i've been thinking about for a long time. And the books are so expensive! But, there's just so many upsides!
